SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON
|
The annual luncheon to raise funds for scholarships featured both a silent auction and a raffle table. The program included an informal appraisal by Kay Chambers and Todd Stephenson of antiques brought by members and guests. Bridge, canasta, and mah jongg followed. The luncheon raised $2050 to provide scholarships to exceptional women of limited means who have completed their first two years of college.

WE International provides small, repayable business loans to poor women in Mexico and business training to refugee women in San Diego. Loans range from $96 to $900 and 98% are repaid on time. With their profits women have been able to send their children to school - some even to college.
WE is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. If you would be interested in exploring how our branch might help, contact Val Benya. |
